The pop-up shops will be opened by local businesses and will occupy the vacant storefronts downtown. The vision is for residents and visitors to be immersed in a bustling city center filled with shops, restaurants, and galleries and energize them to support the revitalization of the downtown. We currently have 10 pop-up shop storefronts on Potomac and Washington St. as well as the possibility of using University Park Plaza as a farmers' and artisan market.

What can you do? Please let us know what shops would entice you to come downtown with friends and family! Save the August 22-24 dates (hopefully you're already planning to attend Augustoberfest!) and share this post on your wall and with your friends. Also, post here or email us at thedowntownmovement@gmail.com if you or someone you know is an artist, artisan, farm or shop owner who would like to participate in our first pop-up shop event.

As things come together, we will let you know of additional ways to get involved in the Movement so stay tuned!
